POSITION SUMMARY
The Registered Nurse’s primary duties include providing treatment, rehabilitation, and medical support services to all persons served within the program as a member of the residential treatment program. The RN has responsibility for oversight of medication pursuant to psychiatrist’s orders, health needs of persons, assessing somatic complaints of persons, maintaining medical records, and implementing orders of primary care physicians.  The RN maintains health records and cares for persons with minor injuries or illnesses and monitors medical and pharmacological treatments. The RN provides supportive counseling, support services, and other clinical and rehabilitative services as credentialed.  The RN assists with dispensing prescribed medication, works as an integral member of the treatment team and consistently exercises discretion and independent judgment in the performance of the duties of the position. The RN is expected to be available for consultation and/or to deliver emergency medical services 24 hours a day. In the event of natural disaster, the RN is expected to be available for duty to ensure continuation of medical services.
 
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: 
Must be a Delaware Registered Nurse preferably with experience in a substance use treatment program. 
 

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS, & ABILITIES 

  • Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license. Must present and maintain original documentation that all credentials are current and valid.  Must submit to criminal background and driving record check from appropriate regulatory and law enforcement authorities. Where required by the program, must submit to, and may be required to furnish a copy of medical clearance and Tuberculosis (TB) test results. Medical exam may be required.
